EVAN HUNT

About

Veteran. Business Leader. Ready to Serve Again.

Evan Hunt is a decorated U.S. Air Force combat veteran, defense technology executive, and a proud resident of McKinney, Texas. Running as a conservative Democrat in Texas’ 3rd Congressional District, Hunt pledges to bring real leadership, accountability, and constitutional values back to Washington.

With over 20 years of military and private sector leadership, Hunt knows what it takes to put mission over politics and people over party. His main priorities include serving the families of Collin County, defending our Constitution, protecting our national security, and building a stronger, more prosperous North Texas.

A LIFETIME OF SERVICE

Hunt is a retired U.S. Air Force Lieutenant Colonel. Feeling compelled to make a difference following September 11th, he enlisted and served with distinction as a B-1 Bomber Weapons Systems Officer and Electronic Warfare Officer. He completed multiple combat deployments in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM and Operation NEW DAWN, flying over 20 combat missions. His military journey also included service as an instructor at the Air Force’s premier training exercise - Red Flag - where he helped shape future combat aviators.

Following active duty, Hunt continued his service in the Air National Guard, where he held key leadership roles including Chief of Combat Plans, Squadron Commander, and Deputy Group Commander, leading both operations and maintenance units in high-stakes environments. Hunt retired in 2022, having earned multiple Meritorious Service Medals and Air Medals.

Following his military career, Evan transitioned into the defense and aerospace industry, where he has held executive roles at leading companies — including publicly traded corporations like Raytheon, private equity-backed firms, and venture-backed startups. With deep experience in national security, emerging technologies, and global strategy, Evan has become a respected voice in the defense innovation community.

As a business leader, Evan understands the power of innovation, the importance of smart economic policy, and the critical need to keep America competitive on the global stage. He is focused on ensuring North Texas continues to be a hub for emerging technology, jobs, and security.

BUSINESS LEADERSHIP

Evan has called Texas home for over 11 years, with the last six spent in McKinney, where he lives with his family. His son and daughter attend the local public schools, so he understands the challenges that parents face. He’s proud to be part of the vibrant, diverse, and growing North Texas community, and he’s committed to ensuring every one of its families has a voice in Congress.

ROOTED IN TEXAS

EDUCATION

Evan obtained his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania (including a year abroad at the London School of Economics) and graduated with a double-major in History and Political Science. During his time in the Air Force, Evan completed his Master’s degree in International Relations & Conflict Resolution at the American Military University. His education and experiences have equipped him with a global perspective and a local sense of responsibility.

Evan is not a career politician. He’s a veteran, a leader, and a problem-solver, working to restore trust in our Democracy, defend the Constitution, and fight for 3rd District.

“I took an oath to defend this country from enemies foreign and domestic. We are at war for our nation’s soul. Now I’m ready to take the fight to Congress on behalf of North Texas families.”

- Evan Hunt

Our Priorities

OUR FUTURE.

  • I took an oath to defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. I know that most 3rd District residents believe in the Constitution, the rule of law, and the power of the people — not political extremes or partisan games.

Our democratic institutions are the foundation of what makes America great. I will stand up for free and fair elections, an independent judiciary, checks and balances in our government, and the peaceful transfer of power.

Too much of what goes on today flies in the face of the Constitution: emergency powers shouldn’t be invoked to raise taxes or tariffs. Congress cannot delegate their law-making authorities to the President, visas should not be revoked, and people should not be deported, without due process. Military leaders should not be fired for political bias. Political leaders should not continue to run businesses while they are in office. And the President should never serve for more than 2 terms.

Let’s embrace and defend the goals and values of our country’s Founding Fathers— and deliver a nation to our children and grandchildren that has greater national strength, a more unified citizenry, and a deeper commitment to the democratic values that the United States has championed since its birth.

  • We must honor our commitments and take care of those who’ve spent their lives working hard, raising families, and contributing to our communities. I’m running to make sure our retirees are protected and respected — because retirement should be a time of security, not stress.

    • Protecting Social Security. No Excuses: Social Security is a promise—not a political bargaining chip. I’ll fight any attempt to cut benefits and work to keep the program strong for our current and future retirees.

    • Support for Family Caregivers: Many families in the 3rd District are caring for aging parents while raising kids of their own. I’ll work to ease that burden with more support for home care and family caregivers.

    • Veterans programs: We owe our veterans real support — not just slogans. That means access to quality healthcare, job training, mental health services, and making sure no veteran is left behind.

  • As a Conservative Democrat, I believe in responsible governance rooted in accountability, and respect for the people who keep this country running. One of our most basic American principles is this: no taxation without representation. And make no mistake about it, tariffs are a form of taxation.

I support Fair Trade, but not the way it’s been implemented. Tariffs don’t work if your customers are so upset that they stop buying American products.

I stand for a government that listens before it levies. Whether it’s a new tax, a regulatory fee, or a tariff that affects local economies, decisions must be made with direct input and representation from the people those policies impact.

We can support a strong economy and national interests without sidelining everyday Americans. Fiscal responsibility should never come at the cost of democratic accountability. I’ll fight to make sure your voice is at the table before your paycheck is on the line.

  • In America today, too many families are struggling with rising medical costs — from prescriptions to insurance premiums to surprise ER bills.

Our healthcare system is failing the people it’s supposed to serve. Costs are skyrocketing, transparency is nonexistent, and too many Americans are forced to choose between their health and their financial stability. This isn’t just unacceptable—it’s un-American.

I believe in a healthcare system that works for the people. Inspired by the kind of disruptive, transparent model we’ve seen with the Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company, my plan focuses on three clear goals:

    • Lowering Prescription Drug Prices

    • Eliminating Wasteful Middlemen

    • Bringing Transparency and Accountability to the Entire Healthcare System

Additionally, our families and small businesses are also getting crushed by rising insurance premiums — from auto to homeowners.

I support reforms that lower costs and bring more transparency to the insurance industry. That means cracking down on price gouging, increasing competition, and making sure insurance companies play by the rules — not raise rates without reason.

  • My mother was a career educator, so I know that education isn’t political — it’s personal. It’s about our kids, our teachers, and the future of our communities.

I believe in empowering parents, supporting teachers, and ensuring every student has the tools they need to succeed — whether they’re college-bound or headed into a skilled trade. That means fully funding our public schools, promoting local control, and keeping politics out of the classroom.

I believe in honoring the hard work of our educators while being responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. Our community values quality education — and that starts with attracting and retaining great teachers.

That’s why I support reasonable, merit-informed increases in teacher pay, especially for high-performing educators and those in under-resourced or high-demand subject areas. We must also work with local school boards and the state to ensure that schools have the flexibility to reward great teachers without overburdening taxpayers. Let’s ensure teacher pay keeps pace with cost of living in fast-growing communities like ours.

Alternatively, I’m firmly against voucher initiatives which will inevitably harm public schools, especially in districts like Plano ISD, Frisco ISD, and Allen ISD, which already face financial challenges due to the state’s recapture system.

Voucher schemes, which are no more than welfare the wealthy, threaten to drain funding from public classrooms and send taxpayer dollars to private institutions. We need to strengthen public education and ensure that all students have access to quality schooling, not redirect fund to private options for the wealthy minority that will pay for private school anyway.

In terms of higher education, College costs are out of control, and it’s time for real solutions. I support expanding access to community colleges and trade schools, increasing transparency in college pricing, and offering targeted financial aid that rewards hard work and responsibility.

  • America’s strength has always come from our immigrant heritage. But today, it’s too easy come here illegally and too difficult to come here legally.

We need strong, smart border security to keep our communities safe. That means more resources for enforcement, stopping drug trafficking, and fixing loopholes that are being exploited. We also need practical solutions for families who are working, paying taxes, and contributing to our communities.

I support immigration reform that protects our borders, streamlines legal immigration, and gives law-abiding immigrants a path to earn their place.

Canada and Mexico are more than our neighbors — they’re Texas’s biggest trading partners. From agriculture to manufacturing, our economy relies on good relationships with our geographic neighbors and secure, effective, borders.

I support reform that protect Texas jobs, boost our exports, and hold all sides accountable. And I believe in strong border security that protects our communities while keeping trade and travel flowing smoothly.

We can work with our allies and defend our interests — because when North America works together, Texas grows stronger.

  • I’ve personally experienced how lasting peace only comes through strength — and strong alliances like NATO help keep America secure.

We can and should leverage our position of strength to ensure we have fair and mutually beneficial trade policies. However, there is no need to instigate trade wars that will only hurt consumers in the long run. Even if we need to renegotiate certain deals, there is no need for drama and blame. This is the world order that we established and maintained since World War 2.

Our alliances aren’t a charity — they are a force multiplier. They stand with us, share the burden, and help deter threats from Russia, China, and rogue states. I fought alongside our allies in Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. I support strong alliances because they protect American interests and keeps our troops safer through shared defense.

But I also believe every member must pay their fair share. We need strong American leadership that holds allies accountable and keeps our commitments.

Our alliances makes us stronger — not weaker — when they are built on mutually beneficial trade, shared responsibility, and trust.
